And now that they have surpassed 100 goals conceded, they will have their place in the elite history books.

Chris Wilder’s men have endured a shocking year from start to finish, and they just want it to end now.

They have accumulated just 16 points, which as it stands is the third lowest in Premier League history.

They are currently tied with Huddersfield’s team from 2018/19.

However, no team, in the 38-match history of the Premier League, has ever conceded 100 goals.

Even Derby County’s team of 2007/08 only conceded 89 goals.

Additionally, there is still a chance that Sheffield United could become the leakiest defense in Premier League history.

They are currently tied with Swindon Town, who have conceded 100 goals in a 42-match campaign.

But with Everton and Tottenham yet to play, that record will almost certainly be broken.

There have been plenty of low points this season for the Blades, including an 8-0 home defeat to Newcastle, 5-0 to Burnley away, 4-1 to the Clarets at home and a three-match series to home during which they conceded. 16 goals without scoring.

It’s been a chaotic year from start to finish and Wilder is expecting a tough summer.

Phil Jagielka reveals how Neil Warnock pleasured him while naked at Sheffield United and thinks Aberdeen players are in for a treat for the rest of the Scottish season.

Speaking after relegation was confirmed, he said: “It stings and it hurts. We have to own it. We have so much work to do on the training ground. We have to have a good pre-season .

“Sheffield United are a very good football club. I think everyone understands that, but it has been a very poor season.

“I still have one year left on my contract and I would like to think that the fans can trust me. I am enthusiastic and determined, along with my coaching team, to do things well.

“We know exactly what direction we need to go, what the culture is going to look like and what our preseason is going to look like.

“It’s going to be a tough summer for everyone.”
